Hello ladies and gentlemen! Here is the review for the MAC compact.

There will be so many foundations and concealers that I will own, use and love, and ultimately something new. Everything will take over but if there is one product which has been my forever favourite it will be my MAC compact.

MAC studio fix powder is one of the bestsellers from MAC. It has been years since it is been in the market but still today, it remains the company’s bestseller.

When I was on my honeymoon, my friend asked me how I get ready so fast every time. Then I told her about my quick fix which is my MAC compact. I put the MAC compact, mascara, brow pencil and lipstick- that’s it! This is my go-to routine for a more presentable look till now and I enjoy it. Simple, easy and quick.

After all the flashbacks and story, let’s dive into the review for my superstar product- the MAC compact.

Packaging of the MAC compact-

The MAC compact comes in the classic MAC black packaging with the outer cardboard box with the shade mentioned on it. Sturdy packaging as expected of a brand like MAC.

The compact comes in a round plastic case. As you open it, there is a mirror on the top, then the powder and then in the last compartment is the flat sponge/applicator.

If you want sheer coverage then I suggest you use a brush for the same but if you want more coverage then try applying it with the sponge.

Also, the compact case where the sponge is kept has a net-like structure that prevents the sponge from going spoiled due to being locked in with moisture.

My experience with the product-

There are two types of makeup artist- one being those who loves going all out and loud with the makeup and another being those who are barely seen with the makeup. Well, I am the latter one.

I used to be a tinted moisturizer person( still I am but oily skin tempts me to go for the compact) then found the MAC powder plus foundation compact. I was very sceptical before buying this one for the sole reason being the hit and trial of my exact shade.

Whenever I am at the store, the MAC artists refer to NC42, which is for every girl with an Indian skin tone I guess. But that looked so orange to me in the compact itself. so I never really tried. Also, this is a major problem for people with my skin tone and like this years went by.

Then I got engaged which meant I started to build my bridal trousseau. So I went to a Nykaa store where there was a MAC counter too. The person on the counter was so helpful in helping me and suggesting me the lipstick shade.

My eyes went to the compact as well and I tried the shade NC41 suggested by the person. And finally, I got my true shade which made my skin look better without looking like I have something on my face.

I love love love the compact. Trust me ladies if you have good skin, you don’t need to apply foundation, This MAC compact is enough. This makes my skin smooth, even-toned and oil-free. Not to mention the coverage which is light to medium.

I don’t know about the 12 hours stay because I haven’t used it for this long (who does anyway?). Also, I use this compact on my clients too as a setting powder which sets and well as provides coverage.

It does not settle in the fine lines if applied nicely and is photo-friendly too (no flashback please)!

How to use the MAC compact-

For sheer coverage: apply the MAC powder plus foundation with the fluffy brush in the round motion for the sheerest and most natural coverage. I apply this compact with the MAC dual-ended brush and it works so beautifully.

For a buildable coverage: apply the MAC compact with any sponge for a more medium coverage in a dabbing motion, in the same way how we use our foundations with the beauty blender. Do not forget to set it with the mist or setting spray for avoiding the cakey look on the face.
