Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum — Hyped Up?

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum bottle

Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair — better known as ANR if you've spent any time in skincare videos. Let's get into it.

About the Brand

Estée Lauder is a luxury American skincare, fragrance, haircare and makeup house founded in 1946 — 76 years and counting. Over time, it's acquired brands like MAC and Too Faced, and Advanced Night Repair remains one of its most iconic products.

About the Product

Per the brand, ANR is an anti-ageing serum that hydrates and plumps skin for up to 72 hours, while also improving smoothness and tone. It's built on patented technology centred on a handful of key actives — bifida ferment lysate, hyaluronic acid, and a peptide complex among them, alongside chamomile and caffeine.

What's to LoveOil-free · suits every skin type · no harmful chemicals · fragrance-free · dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested · won't clog pores.

Texture & Packaging

A creamy, liquidy serum consistency — not so thin it drips, not so thick it feels heavy. It comes in a thick glass bottle with a dropper, in Estée Lauder's classic coffee-brown-and-gold combination — genuinely one of the most gorgeous bottles in my collection.

Small confession: I've dropped this bottle three separate times, and it's never broken. Thick glass, apparently built for clumsy hands like mine.

How It Worked on Me

No product delivers miracles on the first try, and ANR is no exception. I can't speak yet to the long-term anti-ageing claims — that takes real time to show, same as any skincare (this is skincare, not makeup, after all).

Four months in, the change I can genuinely see is plumpness and hydration. My skin doesn't feel dehydrated regardless of the weather, which lines up with the brand's own claims. The anti-ageing results will need more time (and probably a proper photo time-lapse) to judge fairly — but if the plumping and hydration hold steady, I'd bet the ageing benefits follow.

My Conclusion

Ritu's Verdict

A genuinely great investment

Yes — the cult favourite can be your favourite too. I went in doubtful, and I've come out convinced this is worth the spend. My skin feels good, and so do I (once I got over not having wasted the money). I'll repurchase, and I'll keep this updated on the ageing front as time goes on. Until then — keep saving up to splurge.
